Health & Safety Training

Come learn necessary skills for lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid. We offer the latest courses in the nationally recognized American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and CPR/First Aid Certification. These courses teach lifeguards the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies, skills for response and emergency preparedness for law enforcement personnel, nurses, flight attendants, and firefighters, and skills and knowledge individuals may need to prevent, recognize, and provide basic care for sudden illness and injuries until the arrival of advanced medical personnel. Call the Welcome Center at 941-2808 for more information or class availability. Must come in to the Bangor Y, 17 Second Street location to register.

Important to note that classes maybe canceled due to low enrollment.

Lifeguard Training

A 32+ hour course, if successfully completed, provides a 2-year Lifeguarding certification as well as First Aid and a 2-year CPR/AED for the Lifeguard certification.

Standard First Aid

A course designed to give participants skills and knowledge needed to prevent, recognize, and provide basic care for sudden illness and injuries until the arrival of advanced medical personnel.

CPR for the Healthcare Provider

A course intended for those with job related duties in response and emergency preparedness including law enforcement personnel, nurses, flight attendants, and fire fighters.
