Outdoor Adventure Club
The Bangor Y is keenly aware of the advantages of outdoor recreation in respect to improvements in overall fitness, skill acquisition, increasing social connections and general improvement in self-esteem. Our Outdoor Adventure Club focuses on these objectives and also hopes to provide greater opportunities for its members to have access to the many outdoor resources in our immediate area. We have an extensive river and stream system in which to explore and compete and a vast expanse of hiking trails and rock outcrops to enjoy and be challenged by.
The Outdoor Adventure Club is a tremendous opportunity to gain access to some of the most experienced guides and adventurers in the region at minimal cost. GET OUT AND TRY IT! Space is limited. Dates & Prices are Track dependent.

Rock Climbing: Level 2
You will explore local climbing sites and learn how to apply what you learned in Rock Climbing: Level 1 to the great outdoors. The group will decide which climbing sites to conquer and when to go! (Length of trips may vary from a few hours to an overnight stay.) There will be additional fees per session depending on the excursion and the fee per excursion may vary depending on the trip. Participants must be registered at least 10 days before each session. New participants are welcome to join if they have taken Rock Climbing: Level 1 at the discretion of the instructor.

Instructions for the Rock Climbing will be provided by our Adventure & Program Development Director, Jeremy Robichaud and other licensed climbing guides.
Fly Fishing
An increasingly popular outdoor pursuit! Our two 2.5-hour sessions will offer the fundamentals in hopes of "hooking" you into this exciting lifetime recreation activity. This will be taught by Greg Dorr. Participants will be meeting at the Y on the first day and must bring their own equipment.

GPS: Basic Land Navigation
Global Positioning Systems (GPS) have become increasingly popular in a number of specific areas. GPS systems are now offered with many automobile models, making paper maps obsolete. In the wilderness they can be invaluable in respect to the most accurate and effective way of approaching a destination and returning. This sample course will be offered by Andy Meade, local adventurer and advisor to the Bangor Y's Leaders School Program.
